Health Academy

Welcome to the Health Academy!

Mission Statement: 

The De Anza Academies will provide a quality teaching, caring, and safe learning environment. This is a program that will improve student performance, while preparing students for graduation and a career of their choice. 
 

Vision Statement:

The De Anza Academies will provide students with an academically rigorous project based learning program that will educate, expose, and prepare students for institutions of higher learning or further training in the field of medicine.
  • Academies are small academic communities that contain career themes.
  • Academies embody partnerships with employers, post-secondary education, and advisory group members.
  • Advisory group members give advice on curriculum, provide guest speakers, host field trips and participate in fund raising.

 Sequence of Health Academy Courses:

10th Grade: Biomedical Science - an introductory course
11th Grade: Health Science Emergency Medicine - a concentrator course
12th Grade: Sem 1 Medical Terminology 1   Sem 2 Health Records & Computer Apps - capstone courses
